The biggest thing that I didn’t know before I started this course with Uptima is how much business information I had already developed. This provided a level of confidence that opened several other doors and protected me from being taken advantage of as well as guarded against several scarcity beliefs that entrepreneurs tend to have.
I learned to create a roadmap for my business, pivot when necessary and most importantly identify and act on any barriers or obstacles. I’m happy to report that I’ve been able to follow the roadmap that I’ve laid out in in the program!
This course provided us the space to focus on levers that would result in the greatest improvements to our operational capacities during a critical time of growth for our company. I deepened my understanding of cash flow management and refined our projections in ways that improved our allocation of resources, time, and talent to deliver the highest quality services for our clients. After completion of the course, we made immediate adjustments to our pricing structure that both increased our revenue and improved our bottomline.
Before I started Uptima, I wasn’t sure I had all of the components in place to begin freelancing, marketing myself and taking on work. Uptima’s freelancer course takes a thorough week-by-week approach to covering everything—from clarifying my service offer, to building a website, to understanding the legal aspects of running my business and preparing contracts. In two months, I was up and running and have been self-employed ever since.
One practice that changed in my business is assessing my capacity to work with prospective clients. Now that I have a greater understanding of what I offer as a service, I can determine which clients are mutually beneficial for me to work with.
The freelancer program helped me determine how much my time and skills are worth to me as well as to gain certainty about what my other personal and professional values are. This gave me the confidence to charge the appropriate rates to make my freelance practice sustain and thrive, and to give myself raises as necessary. Uptima taught me how to create client packages and begin to market myself and my work beyond my existing relationships.
It was truly the single most important class that I have ever taken without exaggeration—including my formal academic graduate work. I’ve never before been in a class that so instantaneously established that it was critical to bring your complete self to the table in order to succeed. It is profound, what this “seeing of yourself”, can produce—clarity, confidence, and drive.
Uptima Business Bootcamp came into my life right as I needed it. I was in the process of starting a creative business and was for the first time representing people other than myself. In a short time, I’ve been able to wrap my head around fundamental concepts necessary to embark on an endeavor of this magnitude and have found a supportive community of social entrepreneurs looking to do the same thing.
As someone who has started a few business ventures in the past, including a nonprofit organization and a national consulting practice, being a part of Uptima Business Bootcamp helped take Prof360 to a different level. In a large part, because of Uptima Business Bootcamp Prof360 is being built on a solid foundation that will ensure our ongoing success.
It is like getting an MBA in 9 months. The program offers exceptional curriculum and business tools unavailable to most small business owners. That combined with the carefully selected, inspiring and supportive business owners makes the program unparalleled to anything currently available.
