In our Create Good Jobs Course, you will learn how to create a hiring plan, and recruit, hire, train, and retain workers in your business. This class is 6-weeks long and is suited for entrepreneurs who are operating a business and ready to hire their first or next employee.

Hire Right
  • Gain an understanding of the basics of employment law and regulations
  • Identify the right time to hire and determine which position(s) to hire first
  • Create a hiring plan for the next year
Recruiting & Interviewing
  • Learn how to create an attention getting job advertisement and where to post your jobs
  • Learn what to look for when reviewing applicants and how to conduct behavioral interviews
  • Create job descriptions and interview questions for your next hire(s)
Hiring Process
  • Learn the difference between an employee and an independent contractor
  • Gain an understanding of regulations and best practices in hiring
  • Create a standard employee offer package for your hire(s)
Prepare Employees for Success
  • Gain an understanding of the learning curve and best practices in employee training
  • Learn how to do on-the-job training – a technique the works and you will never forget
  • Create an onboarding plan and employee training manual
Protecting Company Culture
  • Learn how to keep your values and culture as you grow
  • Gain an understanding of the difference between policy and practice and the importance of setting guidelines from the beginning
  • Create an employee handbook

Prerequisites

Must be making sales to customers or have letters of intent for sales to potential customers, have a basic website and social media for your business, and have an up-to-date business plan and financial forecast.

Commit to Building Your Business

Average time commitment for our Create Good Jobs Course is 8 hours / week dedicated to building your business, and includes the following weekly activities:

  • Weekly video conference with small peer group of other entrepreneurs in your course
  • Present weekly business development activities and receive constructive feedback from peers
